EPISODE DESCRIPTION

In the immortal words of Carl Carlson, beloved nuclear power plant employee and resident of Springfield, "How come oldies stations are always playing the same songs? How about some NEW oldies, geniuses!"

Now, I have decided to address Carl's concern with this exciting show that celebrates "modern" music that captures the sound of the classics. All of the songs are original compositions, no covers, recorded and released recently (as in, within the last 15 or so years, most of it from the last 10 years).

While some of the songs you will hear could easily be mistaken for chart toppers from the 60s and 70s, others aren't quite as blatant. However, I feel all of them tried to capture some sort of old school sound in one way or another, or at the very least, paid homage to it.

With that out of the way, find yourself a bean bag chair, light up some incense, kick up those bell bottoms, and enjoy!
